NAKED YORUSANPO™ Hieizan Sakamoto,“ NAKED’s participation in the ”NAKED GARDEN ONE KYOTO 2024“ Autumn Garden, will be held in the Hieizan Sakamoto area (Sakamoto, Otsu City, Shiga Prefecture), the home of Hieizan Enryakuji Temple, which is registered as a World Heritage Site as one of the ”cultural properties of the ancient capital of Kyoto” from November 1, 2024 through The event will be held from November 1 (Friday) to December 8 (Sunday), 2024.
As part of the NAKED GARDEN ONE KYOTO event, the “DANDELION PROJECT,” a participatory artwork that connects the world with prayers for peace like flying dandelion fluff, has been exhibited at the National Treasure Noto-chudo Hall of Enryakuji Temple, Shiga-in Monzeki and Hiyoshi Taisha Shrine since 2022. This year, the
“NAKED YORUSANPO™ Hieizan Sakamoto” will be an autumn night walk event that will feature the “DANDELION PROJECT” exhibit and take visitors on a tour of the historic buildings and autumn foliage in Sakamoto, which is also known for its beautiful autumn foliage in the fall.
Sakamoto on Mt. Hieizan has been selected as a national Important Preservation District for Traditional Buildings, and is home to many of the satobo of Hieizan Enryakuji Temple, a World Heritage Site that transcends religious sectarian boundaries and offers prayers for peace throughout the world.
『DANDELION PROJECT』
This year, for the first time, Shogenji Temple, which is said to be the birthplace of Saicho, the founder of Enryakuji Temple and is revered as a special sacred place, will be illuminated for the first time. Visitors can stroll around the temple grounds illuminated by warm lights inspired by dandelion flowers, enjoy refreshments from a food truck, and relax and enjoy the autumn evening. With your own unique lantern art in hand, you can enjoy the beautiful scenery of Sakamoto with its “Anou-shu” stone walls, which are made by skillfully combining natural stones that have not been processed.
