NAKED YORU SANPO™ at Nayanji Temple in Ishikawa”, a night walk event for autumn foliage, will be held. Ryotaro Muramatsu’s “DANDELION PROJECT” will be exhibited for the first time in Hokuriku at this event to pray for recovery and reconstruction from the Noto Peninsula earthquake.

NAKED YORU SANPO™at Natadera Temple in Komatsu City, Ishikawa Prefecture, Japan, will be held from October 25 (Fri.) to November 24 (Sun.), 2024, during the limited night hours of each Friday, Saturday, and Sunday holiday. The work is a digital artwork of peace flowers painted by children as a prayer for disaster recovery. When visitors experience “DANDELION,” the flowers drawn by the children bloom in projection mapping.

NAKED YORU SANPO™ at Nayadera Temple in Ishikawa” will start on Friday, October 25, 2012, at Nayadera Temple, where trees in the mountains are changing colors and autumn is in full swing. The beautiful scenery of Nayanji Temple, which is registered as a “Japan Heritage” site by the Agency for Cultural Affairs because it symbolizes the “stone culture” of Komatsu City, Ishikawa Prefecture, is made more attractive by Naked’s light and art. In addition, visitors can enjoy the scenery of that time by recreating the waterfall that once flowed over the Sanzon-ishi Stone through projection mapping, and also rediscover the charm of Ishikawa by strolling through the elegant Nayanji Temple on an autumn evening while holding a NAKED Distance Lantern®, a very popular item in Naked’s interactive art events. This is a night walk event.

【viewing platform DANDELION PROJECT】

The “DANDELION PROJECT” is an art project by artist Ryotaro Muramatsu to plant (and install) dandelion art objects, symbols of peace, around the world. This time, flowers drawn by local children wishing for peace appeared. By blowing on the objects installed in the direction of Noto, prayers for restoration and recovery will be delivered to the Noto region.

【Kondo Keo-den illumination】

Kondo Keo-den, illuminated with lights, is a modern masterpiece reproduced in the style of the Kamakura period with its impressive bright vermilion color. Inside the building, a huge 7.8-meter-high statue of the eleven-faced thousand-armed Avalokitesvara Kannon (Goddess of Mercy) sits. Pray to the Kannon, clad in a solemn atmosphere, and listen carefully to the whispers of its mercy.

【Sanzonseki・Ryubien Projection Mapping “Seison Falls”

The Sanzonseki, named after the split rock face that resembles the Amida Sanzon’s visit to the temple. From the memory that remains in the place, the Edo Falls, etched in the deep memory of Sanzonseki, will be revived again at night.

【road approaching a shrine illumination “quiet night”】

Music quietly echoes along the moss-covered approach illuminated by the pale light of the waterway and andon lanterns. If you forget the hustle and bustle of daily life and proceed along the cobblestone pavement where you can feel the “stillness” of nature and the dark night, you will enter the bustle of autumn.

【Kigan Yuusenkyo Autumn Foliage Light-up “Autumn Lively and Prayer” 】

The precincts of Nata-dera Temple are designated as a national scenic beauty spot, a place where Basho wrote his poem “Okunohosomichi” (The Narrow Road to the Deep North). The unique stone mountains representing the “stone culture of Komatsu” and the colorful trees make for a spectacular view unique toNata-dera Temple, one of the best places in Hokuriku for viewing the autumn leaves. The oddly shaped rocks respond to the prayers of the “DANDELION PROJECT.

【NAKED Distance lanterns®︎】

Artistic lanterns developed by NAKED. Touring around with the lanterns in hand, visitors can become a part of the light art themselves as the various lights projected on the ground brightly illuminate the venue. The variations of light colors of the lanterns are inspired by the “five colors” of Kutani ware’s coloring method: navy blue, red, purple, green, and yellow. *Rental price: 500 yen (tax included)

Fumonkaku and Treasure House「Rediscover project」

The “Rediscover project*” is the next stage of the “Stand with NOTO” project, an initiative to create jobs for Wajima-nuri craftspeople by connecting Kutani ware broken by the earthquake with Wajima-nuri craftspeople. Together with Wajima-nuri artisans, Suzu-yaki artisans, and Kutani ware studios, we will introduce new artistic expressions using scrap wood and substandard products by fusing different traditional crafts such as Kutani ware, Wajima-nuri, and Suzu-yaki.

*“Stand with NOTO”: A project launched immediately after the Noto Peninsula earthquake. As part of the reconstruction assistance, the first step is to set up a temporary workshop for Wajima-nuri craftsmen and create jobs for them. Raising funds through crowdfunding, they set up a temporary workshop in Nomi City. The project is also creating jobs for Wajima-nuri craftsmen by connecting pieces of Kutani Yaki porcelain, and exhibiting and selling them in Japan and abroad. (Organizer: Rediscover project Executive Committee, Secretariat: CACL Co. In addition to enjoying the autumn foliage and lighting up, a special guided tour by a monk from Nayanji Temple will be offered.
