“DANDELION PROJECT” is in Paris, France

DANDELION PROJECT” art project by Ryotaro Muramatsu / NAKED. The art object “DANDELION” will be exhibited at “Voyage Samaritaine” on the 5th floor of Samaritaine, a historic department store in Paris, from November 6 (Wed) to November 20 (Sat), 2021.

The artwork will be displayed in partnership with GL Events, which operates the Voyage Samaritaine.

About DANDELION PROJECT

The “DANDELION PROJECT” art project by Ryotaro Muramatsu / NAKED is based on the concept of a “world full of peace” connected beyond all barriers in these days of increasing fragmentation.Since the fall of 2020, the exhibition has been presented at MIYASHITA PARK and Tokyo Tower in Tokyo, Gardens by the Bay in Singapore, and Nijo Castle, a World Heritage Site in Kyoto.

“Dandelion” an art object made of dandelions, is installed around the world.It is a networked art project in which people who experience it deliver their prayers for peace to the world as digital flowers in real time.

Digital dandelion fluff flown by the participants will be connected to various locations through the network, and the art of peace flowers will bloom around the world.(*”DANDELION” is an artwork in which seeds dance by blowing on cotton wool, but as a precautionary measure against infectious diseases, the experience is made to dance when the visitor holds up his or her smartphone.)

Japan and Paris Deliver Flowers of Peace to Each Other through “DANDELION “

DANDELION,” which has been installed in various places, will be exhibited for a limited time at Samaritaine, a long-established department store beloved in Paris, France.

Samaritaine reopens on June 23, 2021. It inherits the building’s characteristic Art Nouveau style with motifs of flowers and plants. The original decoration of the building has been carefully restored, making it a new landmark in Paris, where visitors can feel as if they have gone back in time to the Paris of old.

In this Samaritaine, where history and beauty combine, the art of the dandelion, a symbol of peace, “DANDELION” will be installed. The simultaneous exhibition in Paris and Tokyo, Kyoto, Saga, Kochi, and Korea will connect people’s prayers for peace, transcending time and place.
